UnCONventional is the story of a group of friends who run a small Anime convention in Northwestern Wisconsin. These poor, brave fools work tirelessly year round (without pay) to produce Bork Con, the apparent gem of their region. The convention's staff is led by Phil, a natural organizer, as he puts up with his ragtag crew. Max, the natural showman, runs their events, while the cynical Lynn wrangles the convention's workforce. Tara, a newcomer to the staff is merely trying to figure out where she fits in.Oh, and then there's Awesome Roy...
This book collects the first four years of this comic's strips (which had been previously released as individual volumes) into one easily digested place.
That's a metaphor. Please don't eat the book. |

Whether you've been to science fiction cons, gaming cons, comic cons, or anime cons - you know these people. These are the poor fools who check your badge, point you towards the rest rooms and hand you your program guide. They are con staffers, and if you've never been behind the curtain, you have no idea what the world you're missing looks like. Well, you might, if you've read this comic. Mostly. Chapter Five sees some old faces leave and some new faces come to the front. Our plucky heroes face challenges from a feuding college anime club to their own personal lives. The stakes may be as low as they come, but that never stopped anyone from caring too much. |

With Chapter Six, love seems to be in the air (whether people want it to be or not). Romances advance, get rekindled, and (in one case) are desperately avoided.
But that's just sort of how things go. |

Some things go well, other things go poorly -- and of course most people's personal lives are a mess. |
